On February 25, 2015 our firm made a pre- budget submission to The Hon. Ross Wiseman, Minister of Finance.
In our submission JOHN BROWN LAW urged the government of Newfoundland and Labrador to invest in infrastructure, that would lead to making our province more accessible, both to the people of Newfoundland and Labrador and to the rest of Canada. At our firm we believe that improving and adding to transportation infrastructure would encourage development and economic growth throughout the entire province. In our submission we referred to the Trans Labrador Highway, TransCanada Highway, the Ferry System and other development.
We made suggestions that would decrease out immigration from rural Newfoundland and Labrador, streamline the transport of goods back and forth between the province and Canada, increase the ability of the elderly and infirm to safely travel from any part of the province, increase the attractiveness of the province to business and tourism and of course to decrease the travel danger caused by poor weather, long and exhausting commutes, and our overwhelming moose population.
On March 3, 2015 the Department of Finance acknowledged receipt of our submission.
At John Brown Law we will always advocate on issues that affect our province, for the benefit of all of us who are lucky enough to live in this beautiful place.
